Berenloop
Op zondag 2 november liep Pieter de marathon van de Berenloop op Terschelling. Deze afstand van de Berenloop is een echte uitdaging. De route voert over het hele eiland, van West naar de Boschplaat en weer terug, door de duinen, het bos en over het strand. En dat maakt de tijdslimiet van 5 uur een uitdaging. De finish is op West, onder de Brandaris.
Pieter: “Dit is een mooie marathon door de natuur en dorpen van Terschelling. Alles is versierd en de mensen zijn net zo enthousiast als in Rotterdam. Genieten van de natuur en afzien. Zoals altijd zit het venijn in de staart. Hier in de vorm van 3km strand en daarna op 500 meter na vals plat omhoog. Mag de pret niet drukken. Genoten!”
Op zo’n parcours loop je geen PR, maar gaat het vooral om het genieten van de sfeer en de natuur. Pieter heeft het uitstekend gedaan en liep een hele mooie tijd van 3:56:45. Op de volgende dinsdagavond heeft hij een Lekker Hollen Herstelpakket ontvangen om weer aan te sterken.
Zilveren Turfloop
Tegelijkertijd werd in Mijdrecht de Zilveren Turfloop gelopen als onderdeel van het Zorg&Zekerheid circuit 2025/26. Daarin liepen Andy, Brenda, Mickey en Erno mee; Andy, Brenda en Mickey liepen de 10EM. Andy – ondanks de polonaise van de avond ervoor – in 1:27:53. Mickey en Brenda liepen grotendeels met elkaar op, maar in de laatste kilometers kon Mickey een iets hoger tempo volhouden en eindigde in een hele knappe 1:35:47 (tempo net onder de 6 minuten), Brenda volgde daarna in 1:36:43. Erno liep de 10km in 0:49:04, een tijd, waar hij zelf ‘redelijk tevreden’ mee was.
